Strategy for jobsThe Edinburgh Business Forum provides a platform for business to engage with the City of Edinburgh Council and its partners on issues relevant to Edinburgh 's future economic competitiveness.

A key strength of the EBF is that members are involved in other organisations both in the city and internationally, which brings a depth and breadth of knowledge of key issues on a local, national and international level.

Following a major consultation and review, the City of Edinburgh Council recently published an Economic Strategy for Edinburgh for 2012-2017 (A Strategy for Jobs).
The Edinburgh Business Forum acted as Project Board for the development of the Strategy, the goal of which is sustainable growth from investment in jobs.

In order to achieve this, the strategy concentrates on four key areas:

  • Invest in the city's  development and regeneration
  • Support businesses
  • Support inward investment
  • Help unemployed people into work or learning
